Privacy Policy

Hummonic is a songwriting app. This policy explains what information it handles and where that information goes. The short version: your music is yours, we keep as little as possible, and we never sell anything about you.

Audio and the microphone

Hummonic uses the microphone for the tuner, hum-to-chords, chord capture, and Jam mode. Tuner and Jam audio is analyzed on your device in real time and never recorded or transmitted — only the resulting note and chord names are used. When you record audio for transcription or stem separation, the recording is uploaded to the Hummonic server, processed, and deleted after processing. Separated stems you create remain stored on the server so you can play them, until they are replaced or deleted.

AI features

When you use AI features (chord suggestions, melodies, lyrics, translations), musical data — chord names, your mood description, lyric text, and detected notes — is sent to third-party AI providers (Anthropic, DeepSeek, and Google) to generate results, under their respective API terms. In Auto mode, a hummed-melody recording is additionally sent to Google (Gemini) once to check whether it matches a well-known tune; you are always asked before any recognized song influences your chords. Private mode processes everything on the Hummonic server with local models instead — no audio and no musical data ever leaves it.

Your songs

Songs, their version history, lyrics, and your chord-choice preferences are stored on the Hummonic server so they sync across your sessions. They are never used for anything except serving them back to you, and never shared.

Accounts

If you create an account, sign-in (email, phone number, or third-party sign-in) is handled by Google Firebase Authentication; Hummonic stores only your account identifier alongside your songs. You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time via the contact below.

Speech recognition

The "Speak a lyric" feature uses your device's built-in speech recognition (Apple's on-device/service recognition on iOS) to turn speech into text. Only the resulting text is kept, as a lyric line in your song.

What we don't do

No advertising, no trackers, no analytics SDKs.
No sale or sharing of personal data with anyone.
No access to your contacts, photos, or location.
